BACKGROUND

We are a Broker renowned for high calibre staff and therefore the chosen candidate must have a successful and proven track record working within an established commercial insurance brokerage.

 

We deliver the very highest levels of service to our clients and therefore the ability and desire to constantly achieve these standards are key.

 

The chosen candidate will be a pivotal member of our Corporate Client team in Colchester, assisting to manage a portfolio of commercial clients with an annual premium value of c.£1.3M and to deliver against divisional income and budgetary targets.  

 

Our clients’ business’ are broad and diverse, as are the classes of business we handle.  The vast majority of clients are long-standing, all of our clients value our excellent levels of service.   

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role entails all aspects of handling clients including renewals and mid term adjustments.  The Property Owners scheme has a standard renewal process, the key element is liaising with our clients to ensure that we are providing renewal terms on the required basis.  Our renewal process is thorough and detailed; the accounts are spread throughout the year to enable this process.  We have a dedicated in-house claims team who will deal directly with clients on claims matters.

 

The candidate will be working within a team who are responsible for the management of their account, being required to take ownership of their own annual business plan to achieve the group targets which are focused on service, retention, existing business growth (EBG) and generating referrals through their excellent levels of service.  

 

The classes of business will include but not be limited to Property, Public and Employers’ Liability, Business Interruption, Professional Indemnity, Directors’ & Officers Liability, Engineering, Marine Cargo, Personal Accident and Travel, Legal Expenses, Commercial Motor.  The majority of work will be on a Property Owners scheme wording.

KEY TASKS

   The Handling of 25 (average) renewals per month and following precisely the pre-agreed procedures

   To ensure all premiums are paid within 60 days

   To raise invoices within 24 hours of renewal and/or mid-term adjustment

   Debt control

   To maintain levels of retention in accordance with the company

   Delivering on monthly budgets

   To deliver pre-eminent level of service to clients

   To develop long-term professional client relationships

   Building solid relationships with insurers 

   Offering a personalised service approach to each and every client 

   To identify cross-sale opportunities for other divisions 

   To maintain accurate Management Information in respect of income, lapses and EBG

   Workflow management

   Project work when required

   Ensuring team standards are delivered

   To ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements

SALARY

£20,000 - £25,000

HOLIDAYS

22 days + bank holidays, increasing after 3 years
